CESCO Osteria to introduce patio beer garden La Piazza Birreria
Bethesda, MD (September 18, 2013) – Francesco Ricchi, founder and executive chef of CESCO Osteria is proud to announce the redesign of his corner outdoor patio. The patio has undergone a transformation into an Italian beer garden handmade from only recycled materials and featuring local craft beer and inexpensive Italian beer bites. La Piazza is slated to open to the public on Thursday, September 26, 2013.
The new space is inspired by the rustic Italian “piazza” where the community gathers outdoors to relax, socialize and have fun, which in Italy always involves friends, food and some interesting beverage. Cesco enlisted his daughter, Olivia Ricchi, and son-in-law, Yann Auzoux, to create a fun young space that would bring this Italian cultural tradition to life in Bethesda. They partnered with popular event consultant and designer, Rachel Fulchiero, of events to press, to lead the eye-catching project and to assist with the creation and implementation of their vision.
As part of this Italian makeover, the corner of Woodmont Avenue and Montgomery Lane has been transformed into a rustic Italian beer garden, or Birreria, that features an exciting selection of local craft beers paired with authentic Italian street food at affordable prices that all can enjoy while chilling out in the Piazza. Thin-crust “pizzette”, gourmet sausages, savory fried dough and Italian custard-filled hot doughnuts are just some of the initial selections. The redesign is also environmentally conscious and green, featuring hand-built wood tables, bars, stools and an overhanging canopy repurposed especially for the space from recycled wooden pallets, courtesy of Rachel Fulchiero and Craig Simoneau.
“My team and I are very excited about the creation of La Piazza in Bethesda’s dynamic downtown. The combination of crisp outdoor fall weather, amazing local beers, delicious Italian bites, good friends and a laid back fun atmosphere was too good to pass up. We love being able to share this Italian cultural tradition while supporting our local craft breweries,” says, Olivia Ricchi.
Under the direction of Chef Francesco Ricchi, La Piazza is a lively outdoor beer garden where the Bethesda community can step out of the daily hustle and bustle with the help of a delicious craft beer, a little food and great friends.
